How do I setup my email client to receive messages via POP3? |
- First, POP3 must be enabled on MorphOS-User.com using the webmail interface. To perform this, log in at MorphOS-User.com, and select the settings tab from the upper right-hand corner of the page. On this page, select "Enable POP for all mail."
- In your email client's configuration menu, select pop.morphos-user.com as your POP3 server.
- For increased security, the MorphOS-User.com mail system uses SSL with POP3 mail. Please take great care to ensure that your email client is configured to recieve POP3 via SSL. Furthmore, set up your local email client to use port number 995.
- The username, which is required for login purposes, is identical to your personal MorphOS-User.com email address. So, if your email address were johnsmith@morphos-user.com, you would have to enter the same as your user name.
- Passwords are freely chosen by every owner of an email account. Upon finishing the sign up procedure, a temporary password will be sent to your provided email address. After logging in for the first time, you will be able to enter a password of your choice. Once you have completed this step, you can use the same password to log in via POP3.

What software do I need to access my email account on MorphOS? |
As an alternative to accessing your email via web browser, you may use a dedicated email client such as SimpleMail or YAM.
Please note that MorphOS-User.com requires the usage of SSL. Therefore, you should download AmiSSL. AmiSSL is available from a (direct download) or from the AmiSSL home page.
The forementioned applications are available for download as either LHA or LZX archives. MorphOS 2.0 and above allows to unpack files of these types by right-clicking on them and using the appearing context menu. |

How do I install SimpleMail? |
After downloading and unpacking the SimpleMail archive, simply copy the directory to your harddisk and manually add the MCC files as indicated by the program's manual. Note: SimpleMail requires AmiSSL to work with the morphos-user.com system. SimpleMail can be found on SourceForge, and for your convenience, a direct file-link. SimpleMail must have AmiSSLv3 and AmiSSLv1.1 installed to operate with MorphOS-User.com. AmiSSLv3 must be installed prior to v1.1, and both can be located from the page link given above. Contrary to the included documentation, only three MCCs are missing from a default MorphOS 2.0 installation:
- Betterstring.mcc, Found on on the AmiNet.
- TextEditor.mcc, Found on the AmiNet
- PopPlaceHolder.mcc, Also found on the Aminet
YAM includes components that are required to run the main applications. It is available for download here: Yam Download File. More information on YAM can be found on the Yam Homepage. Special Note: Due to a possible bug in YAM's installation script, you may want to copy the MUI directory from the archive's installation directory to the root of the newly installed YAM directory. It has been noted that the included Betterstring.mcc may have problems, it is better to download the Aminet version.
- Betterstring.mcc, Found on on the AmiNet.

I have trouble installing software because of a missing "installer" component. What do I do? |
Installer 43.3 is a legacy component that is still required by some applications. You can download it via the following link: File Link. Unpack the file, then use the command line to copy the file "Installer" to "C:" or copy it to the C drawer of your system partition via simple drag & drop. |
